Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s Juno Awards did not take place in Toronto’s Scotiabank Centre as scheduled. Instead, performances happened in various venues across Canada. LiveWire recorded the tribute to the History of Canadian Hip Hop, which featured performances by Michie Mee, Kardinal Offishal, Jully Black and Haviah Mighty. The recording took place at the Rebel nightclub on Toronto’s waterfront. Since LiveWire’s warehouse is in the same industrial building complex, we just ran 750 feet of fibre optic cable from the mobile to the stage, and recorded the performance without having to move the truck. Worked like a charm, and sounded (and looked) fantastic.
